Travelling to MengCun
MengCun (孟村，literally meaning "Meng village" in chinese) is a small town of Hebei province, located about 250 km south-east of the chinese capital Beijing and 60km from the BoHai sea (see map below). The nearest big city is CangZhou (沧州), about 40 km north-west of MengCun. The most easy way to reach MengCun is to go to CangZhou, and people from the MengCun training centre will arrange somebody to pick you up there. CangZhou can be easily reached by different ways :
- by train : by far the easiest and most confortable travelling way. CangZhou lies on several main railway routes, and it can easily be reached from BeiJing via fast trains that leave from "Beijing south" new railway station. Unlike the old generation trains, the new fast trains are fast, reliable, clean and comfortable. There are trains leaving Beijing to CangZhou at least every hour. The trip just takes about 55 min and a 2nd class round ticket costs about 200 RMB. Train schedules can be found on websites like TravelChinaGuide . If Needed, the Wu family can order you and electronic ticket online and send it to you before your travel.
- by plane : the nearest airport is TianJin (天津). The TianJin airport offers connections to China's biggest cities (Beijing, ShangHai, etc.) and some international flights to Japan and Korea. From the airport you can transfer to TianJin railway station that has regular trains to CangZhou, or you can rent a Taxi from the Airport to CangZhou (travel takes about 1H30 min).
- by car : You can drive a car from Beijing to Cangzhou directly via the Beijing-Shanghai expressway and route No. G104. See blue line (line one) and green line (line two) on the map below.
